Fran & Fraser’s Stepping Stone

Fran and Fraser weren’t ready for their forever home just yet — but they saw potential in their overgrown, sloping backyard. What started as a stepping stone toward their dream quickly became something special. With stunning inlet views, this cleverly designed single-level home features 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a study nook, scullery, and a private master wing tucked away from the kids’ bedrooms.

The build wasn’t easy — access was tricky with a dog-leg driveway, and the site required block retaining at the front and timber at the back. Living on site through it all, Fran was hands-on as we worked together to find the perfect layout for both form and function. The result is a beautiful, well-balanced home that proves sometimes the best builds start in your own backyard.
